Dear A.T. H. S. Members,
Our next meeting will be Saturday June 21st at 1:00 PM at the Middletown Tractor and Truck show. This is a great show that gets bigger and better each year. Please plan on attending. Why not bring the family as there are activities for all. For directions call Dick at 301-693-7634.
The CMIT, (Central Maryland International Trucks) show was a huge
success. I had my doubts as I drove down from God's country. I
encountered rain around Hagerstown and combined with high fuel prices
could have meant a low turnout. Not the case. We fielded almost 70
trucks. Some of those were first time showings.
A Mercury pickup from north of the boarder, (Canada), showed up. What
about Willie Axt's newly acquired
'65 Ford F-250 pickup? I really enjoyed this years show.
Our thanks go out to Mel and his staff at CMIT for having us. It's hard
to believe this was our 15th
year there. My how time flies. Not to forget Mike and Randy for handling
the registration and other activities.
By the way, Randy received the Phil Ridgely award this year and Mike's
truck got the most votes this year.
Thanks go out to Fred Thornton and his awards "committee" for making the
the award each year and don't
forget all of you who dug deep into your pockets to come. I think this
year we had more fire trucks than ever.
Thanks to the club for all the food and thanks to the exhibitors and
spectators for making this years show
a success. Hope to see you all again at the Tri-State and other area
shows. Please check the calendar and
also see the enclosed tractor club calander.

Message from your Pres.......
Our Hood Scoop editor has once again "scooped" me on all the news that's
new, but I would like to add
my thanks to
all who made the CMIT show a success. With high fuel costs and iffy weather
early in the day
we didn't
know what to expect.
I would like to strongly encourage you to attend our next meeting at the
Middletown Tractor and Truck Show.
On Saturday
21 June there will be a tractor pull by the Central MD Antique Tractor Club,
beginning at 10AM. We
will have a
meeting at 1:00 PM - Look for it around where our trucks will be parked.
There is no charge for the
show or
tractor pull. Come early and stay late to enjoy the show. The show continues
on Sunday so hopefully
some of you
will leave their trucks there on Sunday.
Drive careful
and drive easy to save that precious fuel.
